ABOUT THE TERRACE
Completing the northern tip of the Ozark Highland Triangle, the winery stands in the old Werner Home built in 1887. However, the focal point is the beautiful 150 foot waterfall and sprawling wooden decks for which the winery has been named. The concept behind The Terrace at French Village was simply to create a friendly yet upbeat atmosphere where guests could enjoy live music and our wonderful wines.

Harold Werner and his father planted his vineyard in the early 1890s. Every year, he proudly crafted 75 to 150 gallons of wine in his cellar, sharing freely with friends, family and neighbors and leaving his mark on southern Missouri history with a legacy of winemaking. Remarkably, a row of Werner’s historic grapevines survives today – and are still producing grapes – at The Terrace at French Village. The winery remains true to Werner’s passion for quality wine, and is a testament to the great pride Harold took in his vines.
